The story's been all over the Canadian lefty blogosphere, and even Garth Turner's in on the act -- a pro-life rally on the Hill used the Canada workmark (that's the word "Canada" with a little flag over the last "a") on one of their banners.

Wouldn't it be interesting to know if the Conservatives sponsored the march, or if the logo was used without permission?

(to be honest, much as I'd like to accuse the Harperites of re-opening the issue, my money's on the latter. It wouldn't be the first time the wordmark's been used without permission)

And, surprisingly enough, I haven't heard a peep from the media on the subject... have you?

There was no government sponsorship of the March.

And it's not surprising the media hasn't said anything. They pretty much boycotted reporting on the March.

Hi there! It was indeed covered this week in the MSM, Wednesday there was even a segment on CBC's "Politics".

We're still waiting for a definitive statement that the government doesn't support or endorse the march for life or the anti-abortion movement. MPs are asking questions. Ha!

jj, that's what's so weird about the whole thing -- that we're still waiting to hear anything official.

Honestly, I figured they were using the wordmark without permission, and the government would say as much. That they seem instead to be avoiding the whole thing as much as they can raises far more questions in my mind than the logo's appearance in the first place...
